To allow phone carriers and customers more time to comply, the authorities extended the deadline for amending sim card registration important points by way of an extra six months on April 15 of this year.
Ezra Chiloba made it clear that agencies have a 60-day probability to retaliate towards clients who have disobeyed via disconnecting sure services like voice or data.
The registration closing date used to be originally set for April 15 but was postponed for 6 months to October 15 after public outcry. The authority says the process is aimed at weeding out the utilization of telcos by fraudsters, a trend that has gained momentum in the recent past.
