What Next For Ronaldo

As a result of his actions that have renewed speculation about his future, Cristiano Ronaldo will not travel with Manchester United to Chelsea.

Erik ten Hag's punishment for the 37-year-old Portuguese's early departure from Wednesday's 2-0 victory over Tottenham comes after the player received a warning against doing so after the friendly match against Rayo Vallecano in July.

Not only did Ronaldo head down the tunnel before the clock had hit 90 minutes but the United manager confirmed that the frontman refused to come on as a substitute.

Even though the former Real Madrid and Juventus star was suspended for the Chelsea game following an incident that sparked new rumors about his future at Old Trafford, Ten Hag argues that he "remains a crucial member of the group." Ronaldo returned to the club where he won numerous awards during his first spell, and his move to United in August 2021 shocked the footballing world. But within a year, the veteran was looking to depart Old Trafford, where his contract has a season-long extension option and continues until next summer. The 37-year-old may decide that this is not the manner he wants to leave a club where he is respected, despite United's repeated claims that they want him to stay.
