Its a Lion Affair at the Impala Floodlit Tournament Final

Callum Oliver, the head coach of the Nondescripts, acknowledged that his team has his work cut out for them after qualifying for their first Impala Floodlit Tournament final in exactly ten years.

In the final, Nondies will take on KCB, a former Kenya Cup champion and the Impala Floodlit Defending Champs, on Saturday, November 12 at 7:30 PM at the Impala Grounds.

After defeating a tenacious Blak Blad in the semifinals and defeating Kenya Harlequin 14-10 in the first round, KCB secured a spot in the championship game.

Nondies, who have so far been the most impressive team in the competition, advanced to the final four by defeating Menengai Oilers and Impala Saracens of the Championship.

Nondies will be attempting to move past a poor Kenya Cup campaign last season. They last won the championship in 2012 when they defeated Mean Machine in the final.

The Repecharge Tournament will be held in Dubai, UAE. The 37 man squad will on Saturday, 22nd October, play an internal training match at the RFUEA as part of their preparation for the international showpiece.  Team Green Team Red  The squad is without playmakers Dominic Coulson and Andrew Matoka who will also miss the qualifiers due to academic commitments.  The training match will see Team Red take on Team Green with kick-off scheduled for 1230hrs. If things are to stay as they are, new regulations will see Shujaa take part in a relegation playoff tournament that will decide the last of the 12 core sides of the Series going forward. Shujaa are 12points from 11th position and only 11 points behind 12 placed Spain. This is now a race against time to amerce points in the last two legs to guarantee survival.
